Orkney Science Festival

Sindbad Sci-Fi is delighted to partner with the 2015 Orkney International Science Festival to celebrate it’s 25th anniversary, the International Year of Light, and the centenary of Einstein’s theory of general relativity. Join us for this fantastic voyage!

The Grimond Lecture
Yasmin Khan describes how science fiction, often seen as the ultimate bridge between science and the arts, is becoming increasingly popular in the Middle East – which once gave the world the tales of Sindbad’s adventures. Could the new wave of Arab SF enable the next generation to envision an alternative future – and inspire new waves of scientific development in the Arab world and beyond?
